ARTICLE SUMMARY:

The concept of sustainability is gaining ground rapidly in medtech circles. But it’s not just relevant to big companies. Small companies and their investors find themselves having to adopt new strategies as noted in this video panel from the recent Virtual Innovation Summit Dublin.

As companies big and small begin to address their broader responsibilities as global citizens, the concept of sustainability has moved front and center. MedTech plays a critical role in sustainability, through the pursuit of Sustainable Development Goal #3 (Good Health & Well-being). COVID-19 has also shown how our health systems could be improved for wider sustainability goals. Medtech sits at the nexus for innovation in our health systems, and the prospects for the industry to continue to improve health outcomes globally, while also pushing wider sustainability in healthcare, is very exciting. Join panelists Stephen Prendiville (EY Head of Sustainability), Tim Haines (Chairman and Managing Partner at Abingworth) and Ginny Cassidy (Director, Enterprise Sustainability Program at Medtronic), with moderator David Cassak for a  discussion on how #sustainability is really starting to become a driving force for investment decisions in medtech. This panel was held at the MedTech Strategist Innovation Summit in mid-April 2021.
