ConforMIS did not introduce new products this year at the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), but it did debut a new CEO, Mark Augusti, who brings a wealth of large- company experiences and fresh ideas to a company that he describes as transitioning from ‘startup’ mode to one with a sustainable growth strategy.
ConforMIS was founded in 2004 by the musculoskeletal radiologist Philippe Lang, MD, who saw the limitations of total knee surgery in his work as director of musculoskeletal radiology at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston and as an associate professor of radiology at Harvard Medical School.
