ARTICLE SUMMARY:
AdvaMed's annual conference (Oct. 5-8, 2025 in San Diego, CA) has something for everyone with an interest in the latest exciting developments in medtech.
The MedTech Conference, hosted by AdvaMed and scheduled for October 5-8 in San Diego, features opportunities for medtech companies, service providers, and purveyors of AI and digital health solutions to increase their visibility in several impactful ways. Below are some of the avenues companies are reaching target audiences, drive fundraising, and strengthen business development opportunities
Company Presentations and Beyond
Start-ups, early-stage, growth-stage and commercial-stage companies looking for partners and investors showcase their technologies throughout the conference and medtech campus. This year’s program commences with presentations from PT wearable company Articulate Labs and epidural support device maker GuideStar Medical Devices. No matter the area of medicine or size, companies can introduce their work to a host of potential customers, investors, and collaborators.
Conference attendees can look forward to discovering hundreds of medical device and digital health tech companies, as well as developers of in vitro diagnostics, contract manufacturers, and service providers in the consulting, data analytics, financial, and legal sectors. Major strategics like Abbott, Boston Scientific, Edwards Lifesciences, and GE Healthcare will present their latest developments and deliver “reverse pitches”, wherein executives will have 15 minutes to discuss their companies’ updates and priorities.
Medtech Leaders on Stage
Attendees can also benefit from insights shared at panel sessions and keynotes, such as Tuesday’s “Visionaries Redefining the Future of Health Care”, moderated by Zimmer Biomet CEO Ivan Tornos and, in his recent role as Chief Movement Officer, Arnold Schwarzenegger. For more perspective from industry leaders, the CEOs Unplugged series brings top officers from leading companies together to discuss essential topics like scaling, clinical and market trends, and AI.
On Wednesday, the FDA CDRH Town Hall keynote will provide a rare opportunity to hear directly from senior leadership at the US Food and Drug Administration’s Center for Devices and Radiological Health, with Moderator Janet Trunzo of AdvaMed joined by Owen Faris, PhD, Deputy Center Director for Regulatory Operations, Michelle Tarver, MD, PhD, Director of CDRH, and more FDA speakers.
Note: A third keynote will be announced later this month – stay tuned!
Start-Ups On Display
Neumous is one of the fresh faces in this year’s lineup, with a noninvasive medical device that can open the blood-brain barrier in a finely controlled manner to improve localized neurological drug delivery. The South Korean start-up has a clinical trial scheduled for this year, and its device is currently available for research while it awaits local regulatory approval.
Also presenting is Acutus Surgical, creator of a solution to childhood scoliosis that preserves motion and is able to expand as the child grows. Acutus is the latest venture by a leadership team with multiple successful exits, including the sale of an expandable interbody fusion cage to Stryker.
Liberate Medical, another clinical-stage exhibitor, is currently enrolling its PREVENT study to evaluate the efficacy of its VentFree implanted respiratory muscle stimulator to assist intubated patients to wean off mechanical ventilation.
Don’t miss five Medtech Innovator Accelerator finalists who will present in front of a voting audience for a $350,000 grand prize and the title of MedTech Innovator 2025 on the last day of the conference.
Healthy Competition
The new Pitch & Pour competition will feature 15 selected start-ups with a focus on military medicine who will pitch potential investors, strategics, and other key decision-makers in a fast-paced, condensed format. The winner will receive a cash prize of $10,000 in addition to a complimentary presentation slot and all-access registration for The MedTech Conference 2026.
