Brainlab AG has done two deals in recent years that are outside of its core expertise in medical software and surgical equipment but are important components of its digital surgery repertoire. In 2017, it entered into a partnership with the virtual reality video and gaming company Magic Leap. In June of this year, it acquired Level Ex, a six-year-old simulation company focused on medical education and training.
