Neuromod Devices: Targeting Tinnitus Discreetly and Effectively

article image
ARTICLE SUMMARY:

Tinnitus affects approximately 15% of people globally, ranging in duration and impact from a short-term discomfort to a lifelong hardship. Current solutions only manage symptoms without fully treating them and patients dislike them for aesthetic reasons. Neuromod Devices is introducing a home-use, non-invasive bimodal neuromodulation therapy device which re-habituates the nervous system for prolonged relief from tinnitus.

According to a 2012 survey by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, an estimated 15% of the general public experience tinnitus in their lifetime. Characterized by the perception of sound when no externally audible sound is present, the condition can range in severity from a temporary nuisance in acute cases (caused by a loud concert, for example) to a chronic and debilitating issue.
