ARTICLE SUMMARY:

Spiden wants to one day enable preventive medicine with an implant that nondestructively measures biomarkers and drugs within the body in real time. Earlier this year, the announcement of an $18 million funding round for Spiden AG tantalizingly described the start-up as focused on longevity. That might sound elusive, but the company isn’t talking about a mystical journey to the proverbial fountain of youth; it is applying artificial intelligence to biophotonics to analyze blood in vivo.
