We profile three MedTech Innovator accelerator companies using implanted and other devices to gather information once accessible by endoscopy only: Cyted Health, Gravitas Medical, and Plio Surgical.
In “MedTech Innovator Presents” we regularly focus on companies that have benefited from the MedTech Innovator (MTI) accelerator, which unites start-ups, strategics, service providers, and other resources in an intensive training program designed to help young companies reach their upcoming important milestones. This month, our topic is gastroenterology, a field that is undergoing transformation.
Once treated as a disparate collection of diseases, diagnostics, and therapeutics, GI is becoming a cohesive system because of the unique ways in which data can be gathered from the gastrointestinal tract. Data collection from the gut has largely been episodic, and mostly only available from patients indicated for endoscopy, but now technologies are beginning to enable frequent and even continuous data collection from sensors, ingestible capsules, and other devices placed in the gut.
