The American Medical Association launches digital health and AI center. Excerpted from Pathways’ Picks October 22: Tariff Pushback, “MAHA Pathway,” Docs' AI Plans, and More.

The American Medical Association is looking to strengthen the role of physicians in implementing advanced digital technologies in the healthcare system with the October 20 launch of its Center for Digital Health and AI. AMA says the new center will actively engage in helping to set policies and regulations for digital health and AI and will support training and partnerships in the field. “Digital health tools are everywhere and the technology has limitless opportunity, but if you don’t understand clinical practice or clinical workflow, even the best tools will never be fully implemented. By launching this center, the AMA is leading in this space so physicians have a say in the technology and clinical care of the future,” AMA CEO John Whyte, MD, said. The powerful physician organization has already staked an important role in guiding healthcare implementation of AI and digital tools via its CPT Editorial Panel.
