For long-lasting success in total hip arthroplasty, implants need to be selected, positioned and aligned with accuracy and precision, but there is a wide gulf between the two extremes for achieving this goal. Intellijoint Surgical aims to occupy the space between surgeon’s unaided measurements, based on know-how and experience, and expensive, time consuming and complex surgical robotics systems that are inaccessible to the majority of surgeons and hospitals.

The success of surgical robotics in enabling better precision, and accuracy for many procedures, has, ironically, kicked off a new hunt for better ways to improve surgical outcomes without robots.
