Scans On-Demand: MTI Start-Ups Resonate With Radiology’s Needs

ARTICLE SUMMARY:

Three MTI cohort companies seek to add efficiency to various pain points in the practice of collecting medical images.

The traditional tools used in radiology are simply no longer sufficient to keep up with the demand for services. To prevent wait times for MRI and other imaging scans from growing indefinitely and ensure that data collected is as robust as possible, radiologists require creative solutions that generate more from available resources in a proverbial loaves-and-fishes style.

Three MedTech Innovator (MTI) cohort start-ups, Subtle Medical, OXOS Medical, and InkSpace Imaging, represent three diverse approaches to addressing the broader problem of increasingly inaccessible medical imaging. Yet each of these companies has some commonality with the other two, whether it’s the engineering backgrounds of the founders, the reduction of exposure to potentially harmful elements, or capitalizing on the value of flexibility. While all have enjoyed the benefits of MTI mentorship, the greatest commonality among them, evolutionary technology with a focus on improving clinical efficiency, is exactly what the field of radiology needs most.
