Luma Vision Enables Speed and Precision in Cardiac Ablation

ARTICLE SUMMARY:

In the world of PFA, LUMA Vision’s recently FDA-cleared VERAFEYE offers a simpler workflow for guidance and navigation that helps electrophysiologists perform cardiac ablations more precisely.

At electrophysiology meetings like Heart Rhythm 2025, pulsed field ablation (PFA) for atrial fibrillation (AF) dominates the discussion. This relatively new modality has improved the safety and speed of pulmonary vein isolation (PVI) because of its ability to quickly and selectively ablate cardiac tissue. PFA has also enabled inroads into targeted myocardial ablation strategies for more complex and persistent AF.

With comparably good efficacy enabled by all the current PFA manufacturers, now procedural efficiency is being scrutinized as the next area for improvement. In particular, the guidance and navigation that lead operators to their ablation targets in the heart form a bottleneck, for both first-time ablation cases and more complex procedures involving the precise ablation of myocardial substrate (the strategy when PVI alone fails). This is the problem that LUMA Vision (Dublin, Ireland, and Munich, Germany) has been solving since it was founded as OneProjects in 2017.
