Three digital health companies and three health systems were awarded grants this week by the US Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H) to develop autonomous AI systems to support cardiovascular care. Firms Atman Health, Tempus AI, and UpDoc, along with groups from Stanford University, Duke University, and Kaiser Permanent were accepted into ARPA-H’s ADVOCATE program, originally announced in January, to stimulate development of FDA-authorized agentic AI systems in cardiology, with funding that could ultimately total about $70 million.
