ARTICLE SUMMARY:

The surgical toolbox is constantly evolving, and next-generation surgical sealants and glues could play an essential role in the near future. Of particular interest are several products in late-stage development that aim to fill an unmet need for safe and highly effective tissue sealing inside the body. Sealants and glues represent one of the most rapidly evolving segments of the surgical products market, and their use is on the rise. According to Life Science Intelligence (LSI), the worldwide surgical sealants market is currently valued at about $1.3 billion and is growing at a rate of about 5.4%, compounded annually.
